All-on-4 is a full-arch implant approach in which four implants may support a fixed bridge replacing most or all teeth in one jaw. The exact number and position of implants depends on your anatomy, oral health and treatment plan.

All on 4 treatment involves placing four implants at specific angles in your jawbone. Two implants are placed at the front of your jaw where there is usually more bone, and two implants are placed at the back at an angle to maximise the available bone.
Teeth Attachment
A full arch of teeth (typically 12 teeth) is then attached to these four implants. The advantage of this approach is that bone grafting is often not needed, even if you have experienced significant bone loss.

What is full-arch implant treatment?
Full-arch implant treatment replaces all or most teeth in an upper or lower jaw with a fixed bridge supported by dental implants. All-on-4 describes one approach that may use four strategically positioned implants. The appropriate number and position of implants depend on your anatomy, oral health and individual treatment plan.
Who may be suitable?
This treatment may be considered for people with many failing or missing teeth, or those who struggle with removable dentures. Suitability depends on general health, gum health, smoking status, available jawbone and the ability to maintain the implants. A clinical examination and appropriate imaging are required. Bone grafting may still be necessary for some patients.
Will I receive teeth immediately?
A temporary fixed bridge can sometimes be fitted on or soon after implant placement when clinical conditions allow. Immediate loading is not suitable or predictable for every patient. The temporary bridge must be protected while the implants heal, and a definitive bridge is normally fitted only after the clinical team is satisfied with healing and stability.
Treatment stages and recovery
Treatment normally includes assessment and planning, implant placement, a healing phase and construction of the final bridge. Swelling, bruising and discomfort are common after surgery. Treatment duration varies, especially when extractions, bone grafting or additional healing are required.
Risks and limitations
Possible complications include infection, bleeding, altered sensation, failure of an implant to integrate with the jawbone, gum inflammation, bone loss around an implant and wear, loosening or fracture of bridge components. Smoking, poor oral hygiene, a history of gum disease and some health conditions may increase risk. Implant-supported teeth still require daily cleaning, professional maintenance and long-term review.
Alternatives
Alternatives may include keeping suitable teeth, conventional dentures, implant-retained removable dentures or other implant-supported bridge designs. The benefits, risks, maintenance and costs of each suitable option will be explained before consent.
Costs
Costs depend on the number of implants, extractions, imaging, provisional and final bridge design, laboratory work and whether grafting or other procedures are required. A written, personalised treatment plan and fee estimate will be provided following assessment.
